Burlap Table Runners

My sewing machine has been getting a lot of use lately and I'm loving it!!! A friend of mine gave me some burlap table runners she used in her April wedding to try and sell in my booth. They are just simple runners so I've been having fun making them look pretty.

The first I added some cute sparkly snowflakes for a festive look!

And the other I added some pretty vintage lace that I think pairs so nicely with burlap.

I've still got 28 runners left!! Got any ideas for me on how to pretty up the rest?

Christmas Stockings

If you follow me on Facebook then you probably saw that I bought 22 lbs of grain sacks several months ago!!

I used one sack to recover this bench. I used two more to make fun stockings to sell in my booth! I also used burlap and drop cloth to have a variety of different stockings!

Cute right?!?

Quick and Easy Ruffled Tree Skirt

I have a great Christmas Giveaway going on now!!
Please go HERE to enter!!!

I have an extremely easy tree skirt project to share with you today. But, I must warn you, if you are looking for a highly technical and by the book tutorial, this is not the post for you! :) This project took me five minutes tops and I was totally winging it the entire time. There is absolutely no sewing or gluing involved, and it will certainly never grace the pages of a magazine, but I got the perfect tree skirt I was looking for, so I'm ok with it! :)

I found a white ruffled tablecloth at an estate sale recently. I picked it up, unfolded it, saw it was for a round table and had a perfect ruffled edge. And.......it was only $.75! What could I do with it?

I put it down.

A few seconds later I picked it back up.

Then it hit me!

It would make a perfectly ruffled no-sew $.75 tree skirt!!!! Score!!

So, when it was time to break out the Christmas decor after Thanksgiving, I got to work on my tree skirt.

I laid it out and using a bowl traced a circle in the center, then cut it out.

Next, I made a large cut to go around the tree stand.

Here's where I got lazy. I cut three strips down each side.

So they could be tied around the base of the tree.

And voila!!! A beautiful tree skirt!!

Would you have been able to pass up this perfect ruffle?

Christmas Decor 2012

My house is all decorated for Christmas and I can't wait to share with you!!! I kept things pretty simple, and there's quite a bit left in totes that I decided not to bring out. Maybe it's having a toddler running around or just tired after keeping my booth stocked and decorated nicely for the holidays that's keeping me from putting everything out. Whatever it is, I really do love the simple look this year.

Every year I struggle with where to hang our stockings. The ladder we now have in the living room proved to be the perfect spot!

I found this awesome wire tree while visiting friends in Ohio.

I love these primitive snowmen!

And the tree!

I love this galvanized metal box to hold smaller presents!

Mercury glass...enough said!

And sparkles!!

Twine wrapped candy canes I made last year.

Have you decorated for Christmas yet?

Christmas Porch Decor

I had the honor of decorating one of my good friend's porch for Christmas!! Everything I used were things I already had and my friend filled in with some pretty poinsettias. I love how it turned out and wish I had an amazing porch like her so I could decorate my house like this too! :)

We used tomato cages and wrapped them in lights and poinsettia garland to create quick and easy Christmas trees!

I love, love, love this rustic wheelbarrow!! It was the perfect estate sale find!!!!

 Fresh greens and glittery snowflakes!
