Tool Caddy Love

I've got a great giveaway happening now from LiviaLynn Designs! Stop over now to enter HERE!!!! Perfect for Mother's Day!!

Anybody else love tool caddies as much as I do? I can never resist them when I find them at thrift stores or estate sales. I rarely keep them for myself and instead take them to my booth, but I still love them!! Here are a few I have for sale now!

The one on the right was made by my husband out of pallet boards.

Aren't they so cute dressed up with fun "junk" embellishments?!? I have another one almost ready to be brought into my booth that I think I will be adding a vintage mailbox number to!

Burlap Rosette Tutorial

Hi friends! How was your weekend!?! Mine went by too quickly, but it was productive! The antique mall where I have my booth is preparing for a big one year anniversary celebration, so I started working on things to cram my booth full for that weekend!

Anyways, I had a reader request a tutorial for the burlap rosettes I made for lampshades a couple years ago that I also worked on putting together.

It's been awhile since I've made them, so I tried to replicate them as best as possible.

First start with your strip of burlap. Obviously the longer the strip the bigger your rosette will be - I think mine was about a foot and 1/2 long. I make my strips about 2 inches wide.

Next, fold in half and iron it down.

Roll one end a couple times and glue in place. This will be the pretty center of your rosette.

While holding the end you just rolled, twist the rest of the strip.

Then start to roll, continuing to twist the strip as you go. You can roll loosely and then tightly to get a variation in your "petals". Just play around until you get the look you're going for.

I have seen some tutorials where they glue as they go. I wait until the end incase you want to start over and try again.

Keep twisting and rolling until you're left with a little tail at the end.

Flip your rosette over, place some glue in the center and glue your tail down.

Flip your rosette back over and fluff it a little. Pull the center out a bit to make it more prominent, loosen up some of the petals.

Arrange until you're happy with the result and start to glue here and there to keep it all in place.

Cut off any loose strings of burlap and you're left with a perfect rosette!

Thank you Cecilia for your request! I hope you and others will find this tutorial helpful!!

Sweet End Table

I've got a great giveaway happening now from LiviaLynn Designs! Stop over now to enter HERE!!!! Perfect for Mother's Day!!

A few weeks ago I shared some changes I made in our living room you can read about here. My husband built me a new end table to match one I already had, so that left me with an extra table I really had no room for.

We bought the extra end table over four years ago from an antique store when I was pregnant with my son and we were in the beginning stages of decorating his nursery. It was a plain dark stained table that I simply painted white.

Here's how it looked painted in Anderson's nursery.

It's still white, but I touched up some areas and distressed it a bit and it's now for sale in my booth.

I'm a little sad to see this sweet table go, but maybe it will find a new home in another nursery.

Numbered Stools

I just wanted to mention that I am having a sale in my etsy shop! I'd like to make room for new inventory so everything in the shop is 20% off!! Use the code SPRING20 to save! Please visit my shop HERE!

Remember my stool obsession and the redos I did here? The obsession continues with two other stools I came across recently at Salvation Army.

First I found this cute stool as is, half painted leg and all.

I could see the potential though.

It now looks like this

Here's the second stool I found

I cut the number 5 out of painters tape to paint over it so the pretty stain would show through.

Here's the after

I will be distressing the little one for sure, but I'm still trying to decide if I should lightly distress the big stool as well. What do you think?

Spring Mantle

My parents took my son, Anderson, Friday night through Sunday morning so I worked ALL DAY on Saturday trying to get as much accomplished as I could for my booth, cleaned my house, and set up some spring decor on the cabinet in the living room I like to pretend is my mantle.

I love all the white and light colors!

I thought lavender bottles would be the perfect finishing touch for spring decor.
